Southwest Transportation was formed in 1988 by it's 5 member district's with the vision of providing low cost transportation to K-12 schools.  In 1988 S.W.T.A. transported 3,000 students on 25 routes and employed approximately 30 people.  Currently the agency provides transportation services for 10 additional school districts in Fresno County.  The agency now transports over 7000 students per day on 65 routes traveling over 1 million miles per year and conducting over 1400 extracurricular trips per year.  With an employment base of over 100, Southwest Transportation is always interested in new drivers as well as new schools.
